Recently, while I was researching into user interface design, an interesting article from A List Apart gave me a new way of looking at this UI business:
Flow, as a mental state, is characterized by a distorted sense of time, a lack of self-consciousness, and complete engagement in the task at hand. For designers, it’s exactly the feeling we hope to promote in the people who use our sites.
Fortunately my current project is still in the design stage and I shall try to apply this concept and see how it turns out .
Steve travels to less developed countries frequently to discover the beauty in the lands and its people. The stunning colors in his photos from Afganistan, Burma, Nepal and India reveal rare sights from these countries that are hidden from the casual tourist and less adventurous individuals.
Why is this docummentry doing here? Well I think Melih Bilgil did a good job visualising the development of the net through simple icons and animation (icons are from picol.org, by the same creator). The pictograms are clear and straightforward, and technically sound too, that’s what i like abt it. It clearly shows that the author knows what she is doing, artistically and technically.
Enjoy the brief and engaging piece here or on youtube:
As the add-drop period is over, easySwap will be down until the next semester, when it will re-open with more features and (hopefully) better performance. All of the comments posted are being considered and would eventually be implemented depending on my free time. So see you again next semester =)

As we all know, course registration in NTU can be quite a headache. For those of you looking for a course to add or swap, you can try this link. It is basically a listing page where (hopefully) all those who wants to drop or add courses can meet and discover each other.
