The 2nd screen companion app for Angel’s Gate Season 1 TV show. Partly supported by MDA, the 360 transmedia TV show ran on Channel NewsAsia early 2012 to great success and went on to become the first TV format created in Singapore to be exported world-wide. The App was rushed out in a week and made it just in time into the appstore for the broadcast of the series. Apart from the usual information screens like episode guide and contestant info, it featured a flipboard-ish home screen listing all video/photo/text content in a beautiful infinite scroll experience, and a live page which allowed audience to tweet to the AG hash tags to participate in live conversations while the show is airing.
Inspired by some minimalist posters, I attempted to create one for one of my favorite movies:
Unfortunately, its not as minimal as I would like it to be. I got distracted and started watching “To Live”, another masterpiece from the same director, Zhang Yimou.
Edited some clips I took during the photoshoot
The new version of easySwap (beta 2.0) is out! The NTU Student Union has volunteered to host it on their server (and provide the manpower to maintain it, so I had to change the name to uSwap as well, to be in line with their branding.

Unfortunately, I still did not have time to implement the other features that I had wanted to, especially the email notifications. High priority in my list is also to implement caching of the results so that it wouldn’t be so taxing on the server when the “refresh rate” is high.
Part of me also wanted to port the project over to plain html/php so that its supported on the iPhone/iPad (probably with jQTouch), but… that’s for next time.
Shot on a Sony HDR-HC3, effects in After Effects. I wanted to do a spoof of the matrix jump program, but we thought a totally random, shaky footage would be more fun and challenging.
Can’t spot the last difference in photohunt? Whip out your iPhone and take a photo of each image, the app would match the 2 photos and search for the differences for you.
